The 2011 BAFACL adult kitted season kicked off a week ago but Watford Cheetahs had to wait until this weekend for their first game. They went up to Bedford International Athletics Stadium to take on the Bedfordshire Blue Raiders in their openign match of this years' campaign.

I photographed the Blue Raiders several times last season so it was great to be welcomed back by a couple of coaches & players. Bedford's picth has to be the best marked one I've seen in 40 games!

In a low scoring game both teams had problems getting the upper hand & were both beset throughout the game by silly penalties, let's put that down to inexperience & first-game nerves.

The Cheetahs managed to grind out the game shutting out Bedfordshire & scoring two classy passing TDs to win 15 - 0.
